Disclosures

Last updated: October 12, 2026

Education only. Not personal advice. Everything on this website, in my calculators and downloadable reports, in my emails, and in anything I post on social media or other online platforms is general information for educational purposes only. It is not financial, insurance, investment, tax, legal or accounting advice, and it is not an offer or recommendation to buy or sell any product. Please do not take it at face value. Your circumstances are unique, so always consult a licensed financial professional, an accountant or tax professional, and a lawyer before you act.

1. Who I am and what I am licensed to do

I operate Ash Money Mentor as an independent licensed financial professional in Ontario. My licence is issued by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA).

How I describe myself: I am a licensed financial professional, and that is the only professional title I use. I am not a broker, and Ash Money Mentor is an operating name, not an insurance company, bank or trust company.

FSRA licenses and supervises insurance professionals and oversees how they deal with consumers. A licence does not mean FSRA has approved or endorsed my services, products or this website. You can check my licence on the FSRA website at fsrao.ca.

2. My relationship with insurers and my licensing agency

3. How I am paid and conflicts

How I am paid. I am generally paid commissions by insurance companies, usually through the agency I am contracted with, when a client buys or keeps an insurance product through me. Depending on the product, this may include a first-year commission and ongoing renewal or service commissions. Commission rates vary by insurer and product. The commission is included in the cost of the product, so you do not pay it to me separately.

What I do not charge. I do not charge you for this website, the calculators, the downloadable reports, an initial consultation or the free financial review and presentation. I do not charge hidden fees. Costs inside a product, such as premiums, management or insurance charges, and surrender or withdrawal charges, are set by the insurer and are described in the product's documents. If I ever offered a service for a fee paid by you, I would explain it and agree the amount with you in writing before starting.

Potential conflict. Because I am paid by insurers when a product is sold, I have a financial stake in a sale, and different products may pay me different amounts. That is a conflict. To manage it, I:

I do not give or accept gifts, rebates or other inducements to buy insurance, and I will not make one product conditional on the purchase of another. I may have other business or professional activities; I will tell you about any that could reasonably affect my independence in dealing with you.

4. Written disclosure before any insurance sale

Before you buy an insurance product through me, I will give you a written written disclosure that sets out, in plain language:

You do not need to proceed with a purchase if you are not comfortable. Please ask me any questions at any time.

5. Education only: calculators, reports, articles and videos

6. Social media and other online content

These points apply to everything I publish or share on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube or any other platform, to videos, podcasts, webinars, live sessions, newsletters, text messages, comments and direct messages (together, "online content"):

7. Risks, guarantees and tax

8. Your information and the importance of accuracy

My recommendations rely on information you give me. Please be complete and accurate, and tell me promptly if anything changes. Mistakes or omissions in an insurance application can lead to a claim being denied or a policy being cancelled. Your personal information is handled as described in my Privacy Policy.

9. Replacing existing insurance

Replacing an existing policy can cause you to lose benefits, face new waiting periods, pay higher premiums or lose coverage if you are no longer insurable. Please do not cancel or change an existing policy before a replacement is approved and in force. If a replacement is being considered, I will give you the written disclosure the law requires and explain the differences, including the possible disadvantages.

10. Professional liability insurance

As a licensed financial professional, I carry errors and omissions (professional liability) insurance, which is required to be licensed to sell insurance through my agency. It is intended to respond to certain claims arising from my licensed insurance activities. It does not guarantee any outcome, and its terms, limits and exclusions apply. Ask me if you would like to know more.

11. Identity checks and record keeping

Federal anti-money-laundering and anti-terrorist-financing rules, and insurers' own requirements, may require me or the insurer to verify your identity, ask about the source of funds, and keep records. I keep client files, including my notes, needs analysis, written reasons and disclosures, for the period required by law and regulators, commonly up to seven years after the relationship ends.

12. Third-party links and case studies

Links to government and other third-party sites, such as those under "Helpful links", are shown for convenience. I do not control or endorse them and cannot guarantee that they are accurate, complete or current. Case studies on this site are hypothetical. Names and details are invented or changed, and any resemblance to real people is coincidental.

13. Complaints and regulators

I want to hear about any concern. Please contact me first:

Ash Money Mentor, attention: Complaints
Unit 211 - 111 Brunel Rd, Mississauga, ON L4Z 3E9
Email: ashfaq.azadhussain@gmail.com  |  Phone: 437.981.4411

  1. Tell me what happened, what you would like done, and how to reach you. A complaint can be verbal or written; writing helps both of us keep a clear record.
  2. I will acknowledge it promptly, aim to give you a written response within 30 days, and explain my decision and your options.
  3. Complaints about insurance activities are also reviewed through my licensing agency's complaint process and, where required, shared with the insurer involved.
  4. If you are not satisfied, you may take your concern further without cost to you, including to:
    • The insurer's complaint process, for product or claim issues.
    • The OmbudService for Life & Health Insurance (OLHI), an independent service for life and health insurance complaints: olhi.ca.
    • The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA), which licenses and supervises insurance licence holders: fsrao.ca.

Making a complaint does not affect your right to take other action, and the contact details above may change, so please check the organization's website for current information.

14. Related documents

Please also read my Privacy Policy and my Terms and Conditions. If anything here conflicts with the written disclosure, policy or contract for a specific product, that specific document applies to that product.

These disclosures are general information about my practice. They are not legal advice and may be updated at any time. The date at the top shows the latest version.
